Hi there Hello Yellow readers! It’s Shannon from AKA Design. Today I want to share with you an easy felt wreath pillow that can be made in about an hour or so. While I’m naturally a creative person, I like to keep my projects nice and simple. And if they can be done in a short period of time, all the better!
- 2 – 15″ x 15″ squares beige craft felt
- 1 – 12″ x 15″ piece cream craft felt
- 15 – 1″ white pom poms
- polyester stuffing
- small piece of card stock
- 10″ plate
- felt pen
- sewing machine
- white thread
- EITHER straight pins OR hem fuse tape and an iron
Step 1. Trace upside down plate with felt pen onto center of one 15″ x 15″ beige craft felt. Set aside.
Step 2. Sketch a leaf shape (approximately 2″ from tip to tip) onto card stock and cut out.
Step 3. Trace card stock leaf using felt pen onto cream felt about fifty times. Cut out all the felt leaves.
Step 4. Using the traced plate circle as a guide, lay out all the leaves on beige craft felt. Once arranged as desired, either pin in place or iron on with hem fuse tape to temporarily affix to felt square.
Step 5. Now sew leaves onto felt using sewing machine and white thread.
Step 6. Place the two 15″ x 15″ beige felt squares (one with leaves and one without) together with right sides facing OUT. Sew together on three sides, leaving a half inch allowance as shown. (No hemming is needed for felt as it doesn’t fray.)
Step 7. Stuff with polyester stuffing and sew remaining side shut.
Step 8. Hot glue white pom poms in threes around wreath on pillow. (These look a little like cotton balls, but they really are pom poms!) Let cool.
Now add the pillow to a favorite chair or the couch!
Don’t you just love easy crafts?! Happy Holidays!
Thanks for reading.
