A Living Room Makeover Story – Part Two

For those of you following along on our Living Room Makeover story, I wanted to share with you the vision for the space. Some of the key words my parents used to describe their dream living room was: sophisticated, timeless and inviting.

Instead of selecting a matching set of furniture, I opted for different pieces that complemented one another for a more collected look. A bold patterned rug will really help to ground the space and up the cozy factor. We went with a neutral colour scheme which is great for my Mom because she loves her throw pillows and accessories which can easily be switched out when seasons change.

If you didn’t see the before’s you can have a look here.  We’re going to replace those small leather benches with a big comfortable sofa and loveseat which provides added seating for family and entertaining. Also, since their 2 grandchildren visit on the weekends, storage and durability is key! We’re selecting tables that offer plenty of storage so everything has it’s place.

The Aristo Sofa is a great choice because it’s a little more tailored and sophisticated. It’s a classic shape that feels elegant but not too formal.

The Capella Loveseat is a little more relaxed and informal. I think it’s the perfect neutral piece that will complement any decor colour and style.

The Auden Chair was a no-brainer for the space. Its European-inspired shape and tufted back add a feminine touch to the space. It’s also huge (a chair and a half) so it’s perfect for sinking into with a good book.

The Elder coffee and end table are great for storing books, magazines and all their drawings.

Stay tuned for the final reveal next week, I can’t wait to share the finished space! 🙂
